CEC Announces Amy Braddock as 2027 President-Elect

Arlington, Va.― Amy Braddock has been elected the 2027 President-Elect of the Council for Exceptional Children. Braddock will assume the presidency on January 1, 2028, overseeing CEC’s committees and Board of Directors and providing critical leadership on the organization’s planning and programs.  

“Leading with heart has always guided my work, and CEC has been my professional home for years. I am thrilled to step into the President-Elect role to amplify the voices of our educators, champion children with disabilities and their families, and advance our mission together,” shares Amy. 

Amy Braddock, M.S., is a distinguished special education leader with 17 years of experience advancing inclusive practices, assistive technology integration, and instructional excellence. Currently serving as a Special Education Coach for Moorhead Area Public Schools, she mentors educators, leads professional development, and drives positive student outcomes.  

Amy has a long-standing commitment to the Council for Exceptional Children, having served on the CEC Board of Directors, co-chaired the Leadership Development Committee, and held multiple executive roles for the North Dakota CEC Unit, including State President. Recognized as the 2023 Cass County Teacher of the Year, she earned her bachelor’s degree in special education from Minnesota State University Moorhead and her master’s degree from the University of North Dakota. 

As President-Elect, Amy is dedicated to championing educators, fostering organizational growth, and advancing accessible, high-quality education for all exceptional students.
